Creating a campaign by a zip code

Transcript

In this video, I’m going to go over how to build a campaign using a zip code list or a specific zip code.

To build a campaign, we’re going to select the New Campaign button on the top right of your campaign dashboard. As always, when building a new campaign, we’ll start by adding the campaign name, the advertiser name, and the advertiser domain.

For this example, the campaign name will be Luxury Purse US June. I’ve included the brand, the market, the United States, and the flight dates, which will be in June. These are helpful details to include so that when you’re looking for a specific campaign or sharing it with a client, the most important information is clear.

For the advertiser, we’ll use a luxury purse brand like Louis Vuitton. This is a new advertiser that hasn’t been used before, so we’ll type in the brand name and hit enter for it to become available. Moving forward, if we create another campaign for Louis Vuitton, we’ll be able to select their name from the dropdown.

I’ll also add their website. When we get ready to launch the campaign, the advertiser domain is required, so it’s best to add it ahead of time.

Now that we have the campaign name, advertiser name, and advertiser domain filled in, we’ll move forward with choosing our geo target. In this video, we’re focusing on adding zip codes or postal codes.

Many clients have a list of zip codes representing their top-performing markets, store locations, or areas with the highest sales. This is a great way to build a campaign if you have that information.

On the left, you’ll see the postal code category. First, select the country the postal codes belong to. We’ll use the United States. If you only want to add one or two postal codes, you can manually enter them instead of uploading a file. Simply type the postal code and hit enter.

Once added, you’ll see the postal code appear, and the key metrics bar will update to show only devices within that postal code. If you’re only adding a few postal codes, you can continue entering them manually one at a time.

If you have a larger list, such as ten or even a hundred postal codes, it’s easier to upload them using a CSV file. To do this, select Bulk Import Postal Codes. From here, download the postal code CSV template, which ensures your postal codes are formatted correctly for upload.

All you need to do is enter the postal codes into a single column. You may need to clean up or reformat your list to match the template. Once that’s done, save the file and upload it. The system will ask you to confirm the country, since different countries use different postal code formats.

After selecting the CSV file and clicking import, the postal codes will be added. In this example, I used the top ten most expensive zip codes in the United States, since this campaign is for luxury purses.

Now the key metrics bar reflects only the devices within those postal codes. If you zoom in on the map, such as viewing locations in New York or Miami, you’ll see the specific devices available in those areas.

From here, you can continue the rest of the planning process, including selecting venue types and completing the campaign setup, now that your specific postal codes are selected.

That’s how you add postal codes individually or import them in bulk to build a campaign. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
